About RUDIIE

Hiya, my name is Rosie and I am the founder of RUDIIE, thank you so much for stopping in it means the world to me!

If you were to ask me what are a few of my favourite things I’d say; London, Fashion, a good gin and tonic and most of all, music.

Growing up music was and still is a love language of mine and my family’s. We always bonded over it and I am grateful that I am blessed with two parents that never left their youth. Family road trips, consisted of dad’s homemade compilation CDs with all of his favourite songs and every weekend, the air was filled with the sounds of their music video collection blasting out of the new home cinema system whilst they completed weekend tasks. In awe of the character’s I saw on the television screen, from Bryan Ferry to The Stones, to Paul Weller and how he looked so effortlessly cool in The Style Council’s music video Shout to The Top. I remember watching the video on repeat at the age of 11 thinking “who is this man and how can I be that cool?”

At the age of 12, I treated myself to my first Beatles CD, Rubber Soul. Although I had heard the classics, I decided to take it upon myself to dig a little deeper (and because I thought they looked quite cute on the cover.) It changed everything.

That day I fell into the world of Swinging London.

I was and still am, completely and utterly fascinated by the revolution of fashion, art and youth expression within this time period and the impact it had on future decades. I collected every book written and every album I could possibly find that was birthed in the era that defined a generation. The sound, the style and the movement captivated me. Designs by the likes of Mary Quant, and Emilio Pucci were the apple of my eye in fashion design and trendsetters like Anita Pallenberg, Keith Richards and The Who’s entire wardrobe, influenced my own.

As every teenager goes through a wave of needing to express and self-identify, I resonated most with The Mods. The cornerstone of youth rebellion and self-expression during this era. They paved the way for the following decade’s youth to carve out their own individuality by going against the grain of society. My fascination for British sub-cultures didn’t stop with the sixties, it was only getting started. New wave, punk and all the way up to the 90’s with the rise of Cool Britannia are area’s I draw inspiration.

The passion transpired into a career, studying fashion and design at university spring-boarded my sole journey as a stylist. So much texture, culture and genres from these eras continue to resonate within our world today. I too look to create timelessness and individuality in my designs with the hope to embrace the past and preserve the future from the damages of fast fashion.

Rudiie is a space I have created for myself to express my love and passion, bringing my own little world into reality. I hope you enjoy and look to come along for the ride!

As always,

Love, R x
